International Congress of IIASA, October 24 - 25th 2012, Hofburg /Vienna

During the IIASA 40th Anniversary Conference, from 24 to 26 October, researchers from IIASA and from around the world will present new findings about a variety of topics related to global challenges, sustainability and development. The conference brings together scientists with policymakers and industry experts, in an uniquely focused event that makes science useful for policy solutions.
 

About the Conference

Today´s world is undergoing major transformations, characterized by increased globalization, fundamental shifts in economic and political power, escalating environmental challenges, and unpredictable social conflict. IIASA´s 40th Anniversary Conference will examine the many sustainability and development challenges such transformations impose and explore options for resolving these challenges. It will explore new "future worlds" that accommodate our collective needs and aspirations, while living within, and respecting, planentary boundaries.
